1. Introduction

Hide-and-Spell ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our application (the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account. This may include:

  • Account Information: Your name, email address, and password (hashed).
  • Child Information: The name, age, and spelling test data for child profiles you create. This includes word lists, test results, and progress data.
  • Payment Information: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not collect or store your payment card details. Stripe provides us with a token that represents your account, your card's expiration date, and card type.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Service.
  • Process transactions and send you related information, including confirmations and invoices.
  • Personalize the Service, for example, by using AI to generate adaptive spelling tests based on your child's progress.
  • Communicate with you about products, services, and events offered by Hide-and-Spell.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following circumstances:

  • With third-party vendors and service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as Firebase (for database and authentication), Google AI (for generative features), and Stripe (for payment processing).
  • **Friend Groups:** If you join a friend group, your child's name, nickname (if provided), and total number of mastered words will be visible to all other members of that group on the leaderboard. No other personal data or specific word progress is shared.
  • If required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We use Firestore Security Rules to ensure that only you can access your own family's data.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can manage your child's profiles and spelling lists directly within the application dashboard. For other requests, please contact us.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy.

8. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us through the support system in the application.
